The Cavalieri family is originally from Genzano di Roma where they have been producing wine since 1879.

In 1957 Ugo Cavalieri and Maria Napoleoni moved to Rome with their sons Giovanni and Giancarlo to start what is now the renowned Bar Pastry Ice Cream Parlour Napoleoni, but never neglecting their farm.

In 1999 the Cavalieri family and the third generation bought what is now the Hotel Fori Imperiali Cavalieri, located right in the heart of the historic center of Rome.

In 2003, the restructuring of the Azienda Agricola Cavalieri di Genzano began, with the modernization of the winery and the replanting of the vineyards, focusing above all on an offer of quality wines.

In 2012, a line of gluten-free sweet and savoury artisan products was created, sold in a special corner set up inside the Napoleoni confectionery bar.

In 2018, thanks to the success of the gluten-free, the production moves to a new laboratory much larger, but always maintaining the craftsmanship of the processing. The aim is to bring gluten-free products to a wider audience under the brand name "Napoleoni Gluten Free".
